Berry BBQ Sauce

Makes 4 cups
Add another B to your BBQ with berries!
INGREDIENTS
2 cups mixed berries, roughly chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 15-oz can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup honey
1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, chopped
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
PREPARATION
- Heat oil in a wide skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion for about 5 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add tomato paste, paprika, and chili powder and cook for an additional minute.
- Add remaining ingredients and cook for about 15 minutes or until berries are broken down and sauce has thickened.
- Blend sauce in a blender until smooth.
