Chef Mo, 4ft and Up Kitchen
Saturday, June 11, 2022, 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm
Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, as part of a day of celebration at Juneteenth on the Waterfront on June 11, 2022.
Miranda, also known by her little chefs as Chef Mo, began her career in the culinary arts after graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2008. She spent many years working in a number of bakeries and restaurants throughout the Chicagoland area and decided it was time to discover a way to combine her two passions, cooking and children, into one promising career. She moved to New York and assisted in the opening of popular cupcake bakery and decided to start moving toward her newly established goal to teach children the joy of cooking. After many years teaching children in New York, Chef Mo decided to make the move to the West Coast.
After continuing her career in teaching, she decided it was time she started her own business, which brought about 4ft and Up Kitchen. 4ft and Up Kitchen teaches young and old chefs how to develop a positive relationship with food and food culture through our cooking classes. Their goal is to inspire chefs of all ages to think outside the box when it comes to their taste buds.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
