CUESA's Ferry Plaza Farmers Market Bares All in Sexy New Muni Campaign

May 23, 2016

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 23, 2016) — Starting this week, summer produce gets fresh in CUESA’s provocative new San Francisco Muni bus ad campaign, which celebrates the unique and delicious experiences you’ll have at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

CUESA’s cheeky ads build on our previous Muni campaign, which paid homage to the bold and colorful spirit of San Francisco through farmers market produce. The new campaign gives a wink and a nod to America’s recent love affair with “ugly” fruits and vegetables, offering an appetizing antidote to the epidemic of food waste.

Undersized or oddly shaped but perfectly edible produce is often rejected by grocery stores’ rigid cosmetic standards and left to rot in the fields. But at CUESA’s farmers markets, shoppers and chefs embrace the delectable diversity of locally grown produce, favoring peak-season flavors and sustainability above all.

Looking for your fruit or veggie soulmate, or perhaps a flirtatious flavor fling? Among the one-of-a-kind beauties in CUESA’s campaign, “Swipe Ripe” shows a seductively red conjoined strawberry that would be a delicious match for any sweet tooth. “Eggplant Envy” offers a suggestive thumbs-up to produce that is confident in its sensuality. And “Casual Encounters” reveals two curvaceous carrots locked in tantalizing embrace.

“Farmers markets are sexy, especially in the summer,” says Executive Director Marcy Coburn. “At the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, we’ve got sunshine, beautiful food, gorgeous views, and enticing people—all perfect conditions for finding love.”

Discover fresh and tasty hookups this summer at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturdays (8 am to 2 pm) and Tuesdays and Thursdays (10 am to 2 pm)!

Keep your eyes peeled for CUESA’s bus ads through mid-June. Take a photo, post it to Instagram or Twitter, and mention us at @cuesa with hashtag #swiperipe, #carrotlove, or #eggplantenvy
