Foodwise Volunteer Orientation

Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Make new friends, gain valuable skills, and give back by volunteering with Foodwise, the educational nonprofit that runs the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and Mission Community Market in San Francisco. Foodwise depends on dedicated volunteers to support our farmers markets and education programs, which connect eaters of all ages with fresh food and local farms.

Please join us for an orientation at the Ferry Building on Wednesday, September 4, from 6 to 7 pm, to learn more about ways you can support our work to grow thriving communities through the power and joy of local food.

During the orientation, we’ll cover:

  • What is a sustainable, equitable, and nourishing food system
  • Foodwise’s history, mission, and values
  • Our farmers markets, food access initiatives, and education programs
  • Volunteer opportunities, benefits, and policies

We’ve have market snacks for you, and the Foodwise team will be available to answer your questions. To learn more about the various volunteer opportunities at Foodwise, visit this link.
