Alemany Farmers Market Celebration

Saturday, August 8, 2026, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This National Farmers Market Week, celebrate the Alemany Farmers Market on Saturday, August 8.

Affectionately known as “The People’s Market,” the Alemany Farmers Market is the oldest continuously operated farmers market in California. First established as the San Francisco Farmers Market on August 12, 1943, it played a key role in starting the farmers market movement in the state. With a focus on local food, affordability, and accessibility, the market hosts a diverse community of up to 90 small family farms and food businesses on Saturdays in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood.

The Alemany Farmers Market takes place on Saturdays, 7 am to 2 pm, at 100 Alemany Boulevard, San Francisco. Foodwise is honored to steward this beloved institution, in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco.
