Thank You to Our Exiting Board Members

May 1, 2015

CUESA extends our deepest gratitude to John Dickman, Desmond Jolly, and June Taylor, past board members who are moving on this year after more than 20 combined years of service to CUESA.

Always bringing a positive attitude to the table, John Dickman (above, right) joined CUESA’s board in 2006, serving as Treasurer, Board President, and Development Committee member during his term. He was a huge supporter of our Waste Wise initiative in 2007 and, with a grant he secured from his employer, Google, underwrote a large amount of the expense to create the stations and give away tote bags. He was also extremely helpful and supportive with CUESA’s budget and financials during our executive director search last year.

Desmond Jolly (above, left), agricultural economist and former director of the UC Small Farm Center, brought a lifetime of expertise to CUESA. As chair of our Market Policy Committee, Desmond was instrumental in developing our sustainability frameworks, community commitment, seller pledge, and other core policies. Desmond always brought a smile and words of encouragement to the CUESA office, and he regularly demonstrated his support for our market community by attending our seller appreciation events in person.

As one of our long-standing Ferry Plaza Farmers Markets artisans, June Taylor joined the board in 2009 and served on CUESA’s Education and Market Operations Committees. Embodying CUESA’s values of sustainability as a food crafter and business owner, she was a strong voice representing the needs and concerns of the sellers in our farmers markets.

Thank you to all for your dedication and contributions to CUESA! Meet CUESA’s current Board of Directors.
