Rudy Jimenez, along with 2 full- and 4 part-time employees.

5 acres in San Juan Bautista, 100 miles from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

In 2015, Rudy Jimenez completed an organic farming course in Salinas and established his own farming operation. He gained knowledge from ALBA and received mentorship from his father along the way. Rudy’s farming venture embodies the Indigenous roots of farming and agriculture, turning his dream into a reality. Following the recent passing of his father, Rudy and his son, Rodolfo, are carrying on the family farming legacy. They are supported by a dedicated and hardworking team.

Rudy recognizes the importance of carefully stewarding the land. He strives to find methods of food production that minimize harm to the environment. Green Thumb Farms upholds traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations. They embrace diversity, practice crop rotation throughout the year, and cultivate perennial plants that enhance soil quality. The Green Thumb team proudly states, “The only thing we spray on our farm is LOVE!” You can find Green Thumb Farms’ wide range of vegetables available year-round at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
