In 2015, father and son Rodolfo and Rudy Jimenez teamed up and turned to their Indigenous roots of farming and agriculture. With Rodolfo’s recent passing, Rudy and his family have been carrying his legacy onward. Rudy acknowledges his responsibility to steward the land carefully and find methods of producing food that minimizes damage to the environment. Green Thumb Farms continues traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations, embracing diversity, rotating crops year round, and growing perennial plants that enrich the soil. The Green Thumb team says, “The only thing we spray on our farm is LOVE!” You can enjoy Green Thumb Farms’ year-round offerings of vegetables at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
