Tina Stevens, A Girl Named Pinky
Saturday, October 29, 2022, 10:30 am - 11:15 am
Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. As part of Harvest Festival activities on October 29, learn how to make and decorate carrot cupcakes for the holiday.
In the need of a wedding cake after the bakery her family purchased all their celebration cakes from closed after 35 years in business, Tina Stevens took to the task of making her own wedding cake, a three-tiered carrot chocolate and vanilla with lemon cake. It was a success, and wedding guests raved about the cake. Tina started getting requests from family to make cakes, then friends of family. When strangers start ordering, you know you’ve got something. A Girl Named Pinky cake boutique was born because of necessity. Today Tina has happy clients from all over the Bay Area. Tina was born in San Francisco and currently lives in Berkeley, California.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
