Heather Hardcastle, The Flour Craft Bakery & Cafe Cookbook
Saturday, October 10, 2026, 11:00 am - 11:45 am

Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Heather Hardcastle is the chef and founder of Flour Craft Bakery & Café, a beloved Marin County institution she opened in 2010. For more than 15 years — long before gluten-free went mainstream — she has quietly reshaped the conversation around gluten-free food by building Flour Craft around what people genuinely love to eat, rather than what they have to do without. Her beautiful pastries, thoughtful seasonal cooking, and California-inspired sensibility have grown the bakery, with locations in Mill Valley and San Anselmo, into one of the Bay Area’s most cherished gluten-free destinations, drawing a fiercely loyal community that returns simply because they love the food.
Heather is also the author of The Flour Craft Bakery & Cafe Cookbook: Inspired Gluten Free Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, Tea, and Celebrations, a collection of approachable, seasonal recipes that reflect her belief that everyone deserves exceptional food. At this event, Heather will lead a live cooking demonstration, followed by a signing of her cookbook — a chance to cook alongside her, taste her approach to gluten-free baking, and take home a signed copy.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (green tent in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
The demo will be followed by a book signing with book sales courtesy of Book Passage.
