Dan Barber, Row 7 Seed Company, and Farmer Al Courchesne, Frog Hollow Farm

Saturday, July 27, 2024, 10:00 am - 10:45 am

Stop by the Foodwise Classroom at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market for a conversation between Dan Barber of Row 7 Seed Company and Farmer Al Courchesne of Frog Hollow Farm. The conversation will take place from 10:00 to 10:45 am, with recipe samples of Row 7 Sweet Garleek with Frog Hollow Santa Rosa Plum Reduction being served from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Dan Barber, chef and co-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, is the co-founder of Row 7 Seed Company and author of the New York Times-bestselling book The Third Plate: Field Notes on the Future of Food.

Wearing his signature overalls and surrounded by boxes of his legendary fruit, “Farmer Al” Courchesne has been a welcome sight at farmers markets around the Bay Area for over 30 years. Al graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in anthropology and started Frog Hollow Farm in 1976. Farmer Al has grown the farm from a small one-man show into a 253-acre farm specializing in stone fruits, with a line of conserves, marmalades, pastries, dried fruits, and olive oil. Frog Hollow Farm is committed to growing fruit and making products that are socially and environmentally sustainable. Find Frog Hollow Farm at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturdays.

This event is free and takes place at the Foodwise Classroom tent in front of the Ferry Building. Limited seating will be available (first come, first served), and there will be standing room around the periphery.
