About
Anthony and Lisa Galpin are second generation family farmers, who got their start at Alemany Farmers Market with Lisa’s parents, Jim and Norma Reiger, in the 1980s. Anthony and Lisa started their own operation, Galpin Farms, in the early 2000s after Lisa’s parents retired. They grow stone fruits in the summer and citrus in the winter, with specialty varieties like donut peaches, finger limes, and Buddha’s hand citrons. Their four children grew up helping out on the farm and selling at farmers markets with them. Being at Alemany for so many years, Anthony says they have many second-generation customers and have also formed friendships at the market. Chris said that their location in the San Joaquin Valley creates the ideal location for growing peaches, with soil that is fertile and not-too-sandy.
