Jicama

Also known as a Mexican yam, this Central American tuber belongs to the bean family. Its texture resembles an apple, and, when peeled, it makes a crunchy and refreshing addition to salads. In Latin America, it is commonly served raw with lime juice, salt, and chile powder.
