Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. This month, we’re showcasing Berries as part of our Seasonal Spotlight program.
Vina Patel comes from a family of spice traders. Her family’s culinary journey began generations ago in Gujarat, India, where her grandparents owned a spice shop. So spices have always been part of her DNA. Her latest book The Spice Collector’s Cookbook compiles 80 original recipes that have been inspired from her spice heritage and her travels around the world. It brings together innovative ways spices and flavours can enhance and elevate simple home cooking. Vina Patel’s favourite hobby is travelling to find her family’s next favourite dish, and in this book she shares her best 80 tried-and-tested recipes from her global adventures.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
The demo will be followed by a book signing with book sales courtesy of Book Passage.
