Rick Martinez, Mi Cocina
Saturday, May 21, 2022, 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm
Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, followed by a book signing hosted by Book Passage at their shop inside the Ferry Building Marketplace.
Rick Martínez is the host of the YouTube series Pruébalo on the Babish Culinary Universe and the Food52 video series Sweet Heat. He cohosts the Borderline Salty podcast with Carla Lalli Music, is a regular contributor to Bon Appétit magazine and The New York Times, and teaches live, weekly cooking classes for the Food Network Kitchen. He currently resides in Mazatlán with his dog, Choco, where he cooks, eats, and enjoys the Mexican Pacific coast.
A transporting tribute to his family’s homeland of Mexico and a personal exploration of Rick’s self-identity as a third-generation Mexican American, his new cookbook, Mi Cocina: Recipes and Rapture from My Kitchen in Mexico, takes readers on a journey through the country’s diverse regional cuisine highlighting more than 100 recipes.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
