Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Chef Smith was born and raised in Connecticut where his passion for the restaurant/hospitality world took hold. This passion brought him to San Francisco almost 20 years ago to attend the California Culinary Academy. From there he remained in San Francisco working at Bizou, Market Bar, Florio, and McCall’s Catering and Events. While working at Market Bar, Chef Smith met Ian Garrone, Owner and CEO of Far West Fungi. A great partnership developed throughout the years. Today Chef Smith is the Executive Chef of Far West Fungi. Where he is responsible for creating delicious mushroom based culinary masterpieces for the Santa Cruz cafe and store, mushroom festivals, and catered events. Find Far West Fungi at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturdays and at their shop inside the Ferry Building Marketplace.

All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
