Amelia has been hosting friends and sharing Swedish food traditions with those around her since she can remember. While she grew up in the States, she has traveled frequently to Sweden throughout her life and has fond memories of eating strawberries with milk on the porch during Midsommar and waking up craving slices of crisp bread layered with cheese and butter for breakfast. Amelia wouldn’t be Swedish without having an obsession with candy, and she regularly requires at minimum two pounds of the godis to come home with her on every trip.
After moving to San Francisco in 2020, Amelia immediately became enamored with the food scene and wanted to make her love of food a career. While most of her experience is self-taught, Amelia worked as a line cook at the acclaimed restaurant Octavia, which fed her dreams and led her to launch Hej Hej, a Swedish style hot dog pop up here in San Francisco.
All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
