A trained pastry chef who previously worked at Nopalito, Michelle Pusateri started making her own granola blends when she was searching for the perfect granola without refined sugars. Her goal was to create a healthy granola, using organic ingredients sourced from local and sustainable farms, with pure maple syrup as the only sweetener. Michelle produces each batch of granola by hand in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, and sells them through local retailers and farmers markets. Nana Joes also offers seasonal blends.
For nuts and fresh and dried fruit, Nana Joes sources from local farmers, including Ferry Plaza vendors like Blossom Bluff Orchards. She uses certified purity protocol gluten-free oats, and certified organic California almonds.
