Tuesday, February 9, 2021, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join Chronicle writer Janelle Bitker for a video chat and demo with Aruna Lee of Volcano Kimchi in partnership with CUESA. Aruna will show you how to make a root vegetable kimchi highlighting local produce as well as a kimchi tofu stew. Reserve your spot today!
Aruna was born in South Korea and grew up in a Buddhist monastery where home-grown vegetables were at the heart of every meal. She launched Volcano Kimchi in 2014 with the aim of creating a high-quality, vegan kimchi reminiscent of her youth. Aruna’s kimchi is organic, vegan, gluten-free, and has no refined sugars. It‘s traditional with local flare, and uniquely delicious. Aruna sources most of her ingredients for her kimchi and sauces from local organic growers at the farmers market.
You can find Aruna at CUESA’s Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in San Francisco on Saturdays.
Janelle Bitker explores the Bay Area’s culture through food. From restaurants to trends to the people who make it all happen, Janelle’s coverage stays on top of the vast Bay Area culinary scene.
Registration is free and open to all, but you must RSVP. A link will be sent out after reserving a spot. Reserve your spot today!
