The Future of Food: Cultivating Youth Leadership
Monday, September 17, 2018, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

How do we prepare young people, who will soon be adults deciding all of our destinies, for personal and planetary resilience? What will be their priorities as they shape our collective food future? How do we ensure that they have a foundation in understanding our food system and the earth that will help us all thrive?
These are the questions that youth food and garden educators are thinking deeply about today. Programs take many different approaches, rooting in principles of sustainability, development of personal wellness strategies, and cultural centering. And while they are undoubtedly preparing youth food leaders of tomorrow, their tools and practices also have much to teach all of us.
Join us for a conversation with some of the dedicated educators and inspiring young people who are leading the Bay Area’s youth food movement. Let’s listen and learn together, and then take action toward a vibrant food future.
