Shawn Naputi, Prubechu
Saturday, August 20, 2016, 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Shawn Naputi was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam where he learned the value of food as it relates to family and culture. It is from the island and from his family that he developed a deep passion for feeding people and creating experiences through food that showcase his culture and heritage. Shawn moved to California in 2003 and attended the California Culinary Academy. After culinary school he spent time at several restaurants in San Francisco. Along the way he learned alot from working at places like Foreign Cinema, Incanto, as a partner at Mr. Pollo, and on the opening team at Salumeria. These days, Shawn is cooking his own food on his own terms. With his business partner, he opened a small restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission district called Prubechu. At Prubechu he shares his Chamorro culture through the lens of California.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
