Some like it hot, some like it sweet. CUESA celebrates the height of pepper season with a day of tasting, learning, and cooking.
10:00 am – 1:00 pm: Sample a variety of pepper pinchos (Spanish bites like tapas but usually involving a skewer) and pick up recipes. Visit our educational display to learn all about pepper heat, which is measured in Scoville Heat Units (SHUs), and spice things up by guessing the capsaicin levels of different peppers.
10:00 am: Pepper Talk: David Winsberg from Happy Quail Farms and other Ferry Plaza farmers explain how peppers are grown, discuss differences between varieties, and share their favorite ways to enjoy them. The folks from Tastemade will also demonstrate a new food video app.

All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
