Paws & Pours: Winter Cocktails of the Farmers Market

Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

A Cozy Evening of Warm Snuggles and Seasonal Sips

Bottoms pup! CUESA and the San Francisco chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild welcome you to a warm and cuddly winter edition of our Cocktails of the Farmers Market fundraiser, in partnership with the San Francisco SPCA. Celebrate our animal friends while enjoying ruff-freshments and vegetarian bites from San Francisco’s top bartenders and chefs. Sip and stroll in Ferry Building’s Grand Hall as bartenders transform seasonal produce from CUESA’s Ferry Plaza Farmers Market into delectable libations. Plus, the SF SPCA will host a doggy petting enclosure, where you’ll have the chance to cuddle with some adorable pups!

Guests receive three full-sized signature cocktails with our featured spirits, along with unlimited sample-size drinks at this yappy hour event. Restaurants serve small bites, and CUESA, the USBG, and SF SPCA will provide the paw-some games and prizes. Sign-ups to snuggle with a dog are first come, first served, so don’t delay in arriving.

Fetch yourself a ticket to this paw-pular night of puppies, produce, and pooch-inspired hootch. Proceeds support CUESA’s work to support family farms and healthy communities, and the USBG’s professional development programs.

If you want to pet the puppies:

Arrive on time. Registration opens at 5:15 and doors open at 5:30. Our friends at the SF SPCA will manage the sign-ups on a first come, first served basis, beginning at 5:30. The slots are in 10 minute increments, and we estimate that about 6 people can be in the cuddle enclosure at any one time. This means that about 90 folks will be able to snuggle directly with the pups. There will, however, be a designated viewing space for you to watch and take pictures of the puppies. But since keeping our furry friends safe and happy is our first priority, only those who have signed up with the SF SPCA staff will be able to enter the cuddle enclosure.

Sorry, but all personal pets must stay at home (excepting registered service animals). The only furry friends allowed are the shelter animals brought and overseen by the SF SPCA.

About CUESA

CUESA is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 to educate urban consumers about sustainable agriculture and to create links between urban dwellers and local farmers. We have managed the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in San Francisco since 1999 and the Jack London Square Farmers Market in Oakland since 2016. We envision a healthy world nourished by environmentally sound, humane, economically viable, and socially just food systems.

About the USBG

The USBG is the most skilled, knowledgeable, and professional association of bartenders in the industry, uniting dedicated professionals in service to the traditions of our trade. Our mission is to empower bartenders in their careers, foster collaboration between members, and connect with the communities we serve.

About the San Francisco SPCA

The San Francisco SPCA is a nonprofit organization founded in 1868. Many people think the San Francisco SPCA is a chapter of a national organization. It isn’t. There is no national SPCA. And, as an independent nonprofit, we don’t receive any government funding. We rely solely on the generous support of our donors to make the lives of thousands of animals and the people who love them better, safer and full of love. Visit www.sfspca.org for more information.

Please note: Must be 21 years to attend. Tickets are nonrefundable but are transferable. For nondrinkers and designated drivers, we will offer a few clearly marked nonalcoholic options.
