Mission Community Market: First Day of the Season

Thursday, May 7, 2020, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Mission Community Market returns for the 2020 season on Thursday, May 7, with NEW HOURS, 3:00 to 7:00 pm. The market takes place at 22nd and Bartlett Streets in San Francisco’s Mission District.

Farmers markets are open as an essential service during shelter-in-place to provide critical access for our community. Please shop safely and stock up on local food from your favorite farms and food makers. Due to restrictions around essential business, there will be no live music, kids’ activities, or craft vendors. Help us ensure a safe market experience for everyone by following the guidelines below.

Thank you to our friends at The Makeout Room, who are generously providing us with access to water for our handwashing stations. We love our neighbors!

Help Us Keep Farmers Markets Safe and Open

Please help us keep farmers markets safe and open during shelter-in-place by following public health and safety guidelinesThank you for protecting yourself and your community, while supporting our farmers.

  • If you are sick or a member of high-risk group, stay home and take care of yourself.
  • Wear a face covering, such as a cloth mask or bandana, at all times.
  • Send one household member to shop, if possible.
  • Practice physical distancing of six feet at all times. Avoid physical contact, such as shaking hands.
  • If you must sneeze or cough, use a tissue or your elbow.
  • Shop as quickly as possible, ideally within 30 minutes. Avoid peak times. Take prepared food items to go to eat off site.
  • Don’t touch. Let our farmers and vendors serve you, and don’t handle items you’re not prepared to buy. Wash your produce thoroughly when you get home.
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly for 20 seconds. CUESA offers handwashing stations in the famers market, and bathrooms are located on both ends of the inside of the Ferry Building and second floor. If you are not able to wash your hands, use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Use exact change, credit card, or contactless payments such as Apple Pay and tap-to-pay credit cards, which are accepted by many of CUESA’s sellers.

We’re all in this together! As always, be kind, and remember that viruses do not target by race or ethnicity. We are always stronger together in love and respect, not fear. Farmers markets are places of nourishment and care, and we believe in the power of community resilience in challenging times. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring our farmers markets are safe, healthy, and inclusive spaces for everyone.
