Maia Bull, Bi-Rite Market, featuring McGinnis Ranch

Saturday, March 30, 2019, 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a hands-on activity highlighting the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and featuring one of our market sellers.

Bi-Rite’s floral selection was voted “Best Floral Shop” by SF Weekly in 2018. Floral buyer Maia Bull is committed to sourcing California’s seasonal, sustainable flowers from farmers who are devoted to the resilience of their local land and communities, like McGinnis Ranch.  They offer California grown flowers year-round and for six months every year, 100% of their selection is purchased straight from the farm. Their one-of-a-kind Bi-Rite bouquets, made in house by the flower team, illustrate their passion for seasonality and attention to detail.

Howard McGinnis started McGinnis Ranch in 1968. He is mentoring his daughter, Sandi, and his granddaughter, Sara, to pass on the many hard-learned lessons of the trade. Sandi and Sara wish to continue farming, keeping all the long-time employees. They are in their final year of transitioning to organic.

All Market to Table activities take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public.
