Forage and create art at the Farmers Market!

Join us to create several beautiful pieces of ephemeral art in the CUESA classroom using ingredients foraged from the market. Leslie will give us a bit of background and inspiration to start, then we’ll collect some leaves, flowers, and other market “ingredients” to create beautiful rainbow color wheels. A “meet and greet” and book signing will follow at Book Passage in the Ferry Building Marketplace at 11:00.

Art, meditation, and nature meet in this adult focused activity book, with projects that take inspiration from the natural environment, using blooms, pods, branches, stones, and other natural elements. Divided into chapters by natural elements – flowers, leaves, rocks and pods, and more, the book will encourage readers to forage and play outside using nature’s seasonal art box. With quotes by artists on nature and creativity, the book is about making art from what you find and finding art in what you see.

This will be an interactive activity and market shoppers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Please arrive at the CUESA classroom (in front of the Ferry Building on the south plaza) on time, so you can learn a bit about the inspiration for the book and about the activity before we start creating.
