Kathy Fang, Fang Restaurant
Saturday, December 1, 2018, 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Kathy Fang grew up in the kitchen of her family’s popular restaurant, House of Nanking, before opening Fang Restaurant with her father in 2009 as co-owner and chef. Today, Kathy balances her responsibilities at Fang with pursuing her dream of teaching others to create easy, healthy and delicious dishes with unique ingredients and flavors. Fang is the author of her own lifestyle website focusing on healthy living, KathyFang.com, and is a regular contributor to foodie-centric website Chowhound.com.
Chef Fang left San Francisco as a young adult to pursue a business career. After earning her degree at USC and working in the financial field for several years, she made the jump back to the restaurant business. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School Los Angeles.
At Fang Restaurant, Chef Fang has blended her family’s Cantonese heritage and cooking style with her own inspiration to create the sophisticated, multicultural cuisine. There, Kathy has created a menu equally loyal to tradition and innovation, catering to the Bay Area’s booming tech industry.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the CUESA tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
