Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. The demo will be followed by a book signing.
Joanne Weir wears many different hats as cookbook author, culinary instructor, and as executive chef of Copita Tequileria y Comida in Sausalito, California. Lately, Weir has been very busy with the release of her newest cookbook, Kitchen Gypsy: Recipes and Stories from a Lifelong Romance with Food. Her notable distinctions include the very first IACP Julia Child Cooking Teacher Award of Excellence in 1999 and a James Beard Award nomination and an IACP Cookbook Award nomination for her much celebrated book Weir’s More Cooking in the Wine Country, which was the companion to the very successful Weir Cooking in the Wine Country. She has a Master Chef diploma and has cooked with Alice Waters in Berkeley and Madelein Kamman in New England and France. Known for being a talented teacher, she travels the world sharing her knowledge of food.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
