Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market,  followed by a book signing hosted by Book Passage at their shop in the Ferry Building Marketplace.

Jessica Battilana is a freelance food writer and recipe developer. Her first solo cookbook, Repertoire: All The Recipes You Need, was published by Little, Brown in Spring 2017, and she writes a bimonthly column by the same name for The San Francisco Chronicle. Born in Vermont, Jessica moved to California a decade ago, and after stints as a reservationist at Chez Panisse and a private chef, as well as staff editorial jobs at publications both print and digital, she began freelancing full-time in 2014, after her second son was born. Jessica coauthored six cookbooks, including Vietnamese Home Food (Ten Speed Press, 2012), with Charles Phan; Tartine Book 3 (Chronicle, 2013), with Tartine owner Chad Robertson, and Sausage Making (Chronicle 2014), with butcher Ryan Farr. Jessica’s work has also been featured in Sunset magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Rachael Ray Every Day and various other publications, and was included in the Best Food Writing Anthology (twice!).

All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
