Jake Godby, Humphry Slocombe

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Join Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream co-founder Jake Godby and his team, as they demo how they develop their unique flavors from the bounty of the market. They’ll review the three main ways to flavor your ice cream at home: infusion, inclusion, and toppings. And it’s not just talk! The Humphry Slocombe team will be inviting you to sample the different products and invite you to think about how they can enhance your at-home ice cream. They’ll also be inviting you to sample some of their unique, chef and market driven ice creams from their ice cream cart.
Humphry Slocombe opened their first shop in December 2008 (they now have a shop in the Ferry Building and are making the leap across the bridge to Oakland in Summer 2017!), and have been making incredible frozen treats ever since. Humphry Slocombe is named after the two lead characters (Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Slocombe) from the fabulous 1970’s sitcom “Are You Being Served?” They keep the official “Are You Being Served” book in the Mission Shop to show anyone who’s never heard of the show…just ask! The question they get asked the most is “why all the unusual flavors?” They don’t really think of their flavors as that unusual and that’s why they let you sample everything they have. Everything.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
