Innovations in Agriculture Panel Discussion
Saturday, February 4, 2017, 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Join us for a discussion with several of our farmers and ranchers about how they’re innovating in their businesses, and get a chance to ask some questions.
Most of us probably think of farming (especially organic farming) as using time-honored, traditional methods and lots of hand labor and hard work. However, there are things—little and big—that farmers and ranchers do to be more efficient, to tap into resources, to plan for the future, and to save labor and money so they can be truly sustainable. We’ll hear about some wide-ranging programs and techniques, from composting to chickens, that our sellers are employing to ensure the health of their farms and ranches. Joining the discussion will be Ferry Plaza farms Bariani Olive Oil, Eatwell Farm, Frog Hollow Farm, and Lagier Ranches.
This discussion will take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and is free to the public.
