Far West Fungi Kitchen is a mushroom-centric concept based on the idea of introducing nutrient rich exotic mushrooms as a replacement to animal based protein diets. Far West Fungi Kitchen hopes to educate and inspire their customers by exploring the vast array of mushrooms through cooking. Their concept is to introduce easy recipes that are based on traditional American fare with an emphases on increasing and highlighting mushrooms while reducing meat consumption. Their ever-changing menu promotes wild, seasonal, and sustainable food that is made by hand at their commissary kitchen in South San Francisco.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
