Harvest Festival and Sukkot at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

Celebrate our local fall bounty at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market with seasonal crafts, cooking demos, and other fun all-ages activities presented by CUESA and JCCSF. Stop by the CUESA Info Booth to pick up a map of all the day’s harvest-inspired offerings.
JCCSF Pop-Up: Sukkot at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm: You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind event featuring a special opportunity to learn about and perform the Sukkot ritual of waving lulav (date palm, willow, and myrtle branches) and etrog (citron fruit). Join us for activities for all ages in the back plaza.
- Build and decorate a community sukkah
- Explore Sukkot traditions and shake a lulav and etrog
- Beeswax candle making
- Sound Maze: Interactive sound sculptures with Paul Dresher Ensemble
- Prepare hygiene kits for people experiencing homelessness (to be distributed by Lava Mae)
- Community picnic area
- Meet a grower and enjoy food samples
DIY apple cider pressing, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (or until we run out): Help juice heirloom organic apples from our local farmers using an old-fashioned apple cider press. This is as fresh as apple juice gets! Samples are free if you step up and help crank the press.
The Food Shed, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm: The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market has more than 1,500 varieties of fruits and vegetables throughout the year. Visit CUESA’s Food Shed tent to learn more about the diversity of produce in the fall, play games, and taste heirloom apples.
