Goran Basarov, Balboa Cafe
Saturday, November 16, 2019, 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and highlighting one of our market sellers.
Chef Goran Basarov was born and raised in Macedonia and holds a Bachelors in English Language and Literature with an Associates Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management. After working in kitchens from coast to coast, he joined the PlumpJack Group in 2016 as sous chef of White Bison in Vail, CO., and later became executive sous chef of Pendulum, both integral roles for opening both properties outside of California. This position eventually led him to relocate to California and assume the title as executive chef at Balboa Cafe in December 2018, where he leads the charge in ensuring the high quality of menu staples like the Balboa Burger, but introducing new offerings like Baby Artichoke Tempura, Brussels Sprouts with Chimichurri, and a “Pork Plate” featuring various cuts alongside Parmesan grits. Prior to his time with PlumpJack, he worked at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort and Spa in Colorado.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
