Goat Cheese Making Workshop

Tuesday, April 22, 2014, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

April is all about goats at CUESA, and to celebrate the occasion you’re invited to join CUESA and the San Francisco Milk Maid for a “get your hands wet” course in making goat cheese.

Louella Hill, the Milk Maid, inspires everyone around her to want to make cheese. Her classes consistently sell out. You’ll learn an unbeatable recipe for fresh chèvre, then season it in three different ways, all in the blink of an eye (okay, two hours). This class will not only tempt you with luscious cheese tastes, but it will also teach you where to source quality goat milk and other cheese-making supplies. You’ll also pick up tricks for economical, quick, tasty and fool-proof cheese making.

Finally, after a splash of wine and a taste of various chèvres, you’ll bring home your very own cheese form filled with just-made curds, along with instructions on how to care for them. This is a perfect class for beginners.

Location: CUESA Dacor Outdoor Teaching Kitchen at San Francisco’s landmark Ferry Building (South Arcade)

Cost: $55.00
