Frank Sally, Fournee Bakery, featuring Capay Mills
Saturday, September 29, 2018, 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and highlighting one of our market seller-farmers.
Fournee Bakery is a small artisan bakery and pastry shop located in Berkeley, California owned and operated by Baker/ Pastry Chef Frank Sally. They are dedicated to using the highest quality ingredients and traditional methods to produce food that nourishes the soul.
Grain farmer David Kaisel of Capay Mills offers stone-ground flour milled from heirloom wheat on the 15-acre farm in Capay. The result is fresh whole-grain flour that keeps flavor and nutrients intact. In addition to being available at farmer markets as milled flour, the heirloom grains are grown for seed to help farmers plant these lost varieties. Capay Mills is part of California Grain Campaign, a group of small-scale growers who’ve banded together to increase the availability and diversity of local grains and bring back traditional forms of milling.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
