Brooke Lewy, author, Vegetables on Fire: 50 Vegetable-Centered Meals from the Grill

Brooke Lewy found her way into a professional kitchen at Delfina Restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District in 2012. Working her way up the line from garde manger to the grill & sauté station and eventually to pastry assistant, Brooke built upon the skills she developed as a passionate home cook and learned classical technique, recipe development and flawless execution. In the past several years, Brooke has become immersed in San Francisco’s food community, developing food pairings for monthly wine tasting events at Winemaker Salon, and volunteering for the nonprofits CUESA and 18 Reasons. Her first cookbook, Vegetables on Fire (Chronicle Books), was released in June.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
