Andrew Ghetia, 4505 Burgers & BBQ
Saturday, October 27, 2018, 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and featuring a former market seller.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, 4505 Area Director Andrew Ghetia has strong memories of family dinners with traditional Midwestern comfort food. These formative experiences combined with his ever-present sense of gastronomic curiosity, hardworking values, and college education in philosophy and mathematics provided him with a unique perspective when he landed in his first professional culinary position at La Boca in Santa Fe, NM. Andrew worked up through the kitchen ranks in Santa Fe, always gleaning knowledge about hospitality, entrepreneurship, and leadership, while eventually becoming the co-chef at Harry’s Roadhouse.
Andrew first worked with whole animals at Revival Bar + Kitchen in Berkeley before jumping on the opportunity to work with Ryan Farr, leading 4505’s back of house operations at its farmers market stand. Andrew has been instrumental to the development of 4505’s restaurant business, most notably serving as 4505 Burgers & BBQ’s opening chef, general manager, and how area director. He is focused on growing the business regionally while maintaining 4505’s standard of excellence in sourcing, operations, and hospitality. He is continuously inspired by Ryan’s vision,
as well as his relationships with the chefs and pitmasters of the Fat Back Collective.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
