Donate to Bring Kids Back to School, Back to the Farmers Market This August
Empower the next generation of healthy eaters! Help us raise $25,000 by the end of the August to support Foodwise’s free education programs for eaters of all ages.
Foodwise farmers markets and education programs are a critical source of learning, wellness, and connection for Bay Area youth, serving more than 3,000 San Francisco Unified School District students and their families every year. Through our Foodwise Kids and Foodwise Teens programs, students learn to grow and cook their own food, develop valuable life and job skills, and build community together. These free programs depend on your support! Help us grow our farmers market community and the next generation of food leaders with a donation today.

Foodwise: Education. Farmers markets. Community.
For nearly three decades, CUESA (the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture) has operated world-class farmers markets and education programs to connect the Bay Area community with fresh, local food and sustainable family farms.
Now as Foodwise, we are building on those strengths and deepening our commitment to equity through expanded food access and education programs.
Inspired by our Foodwise Kids and Foodwise Teens programs, the name Foodwise honors the wisdom in all of us. It celebrates the power of community to create a fair, regenerative, and delicious food future for all.
Wherever you are on your food journey, you belong here.
Foodwise is committed to growing thriving communities through the power and joy of local food.
We envision a world that nourishes all people, local economies, and the living earth. Since the founding of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, our work has been rooted in the belief that farmers markets are educational spaces where family farmers, food makers, and neighbors can share food and knowledge, build community, and nurture food and climate solutions together.
As Foodwise, we remain firmly committed to bringing you the Bay Area farmers markets you know and love at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and Mission Community Market, and delivering high-quality experiential education programs for eaters of all ages. We are also doubling down on our commitment to:
Join us!
Foodwise farmers markets are vital food access points, connecting thousands of Bay Area residents with more than 130 local farms and food makers. We’re thrilled to bring back farmers market public education programs this spring.
