Support Team CUESA in the San Francisco Marathon
June 14, 2016
Support Team CUESA as we run to raise funds for Foodwise Kids, CUESA’s free farm-to-table field trip and cooking class for San Francisco public elementary school students!
As advocates for healthy eating and living, some of our staff, board members, and friends have committed to running the San Francisco Half Marathon (13.1 miles!) to raise funds and awareness for youth food education. For a few of us, this will be our first time running in a half marathon, and we’ve been jogging to and from the farmers market to train our bodies and minds for the challenge. We can’t do it with your support!
Growing strong kids begins with introducing healthy eating habits from a young age. Using the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market as a dynamic classroom, Foodwise Kids starts youth on track for a lifetime of healthy eating through fresh produce tastings, exploring the market, and a hands-on cooking lesson. The program serves over 2,500 students each year, the majority of whom come from low-resource households.
Set San Francisco youth up for healthy living by supporting Team CUESA in our race to empower the next generation of healthy eaters!
