Kidding Around
April 11, 2014
It’s spring, and new life is sprouting up everywhere. For goat herders like Javier Salmon of Bodega & Yerba Santa Goat Cheese, spring is one of the busiest times at the farm. Not only are there new babies to care for, but the mothers’ milk is flowing, which means more queso fresco to produce.
Photographer Denise Tarantino visited Javier to capture everyday life on the goat farm. In anticipation of CUESA’s Sixth Annual Goat Festival tomorrow, you can take a virtual tour of Bodega & Yerba Santa Goat Cheese to see the adorable goat babies and mothers up close.
Look for Javier at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturdays. To learn more about goats, check out our quick guide to goats.
