This is a big year for milestones at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. On May 18 we will celebrate the market’s 20th anniversary, and today marks 10 years since the market returned to the Ferry Building, after five years at Green Street while the Embarcadero and Ferry Building were under construction. In 1993, there were only two other farmers markets in the city, and the Ferry Plaza quickly became a vibrant food hub and gathering place for locals, chefs, and farmers. Many of them have weathered the transitions over the years and remain loyal members of the community to this day.
